Apple School Manager with MDM

  1. In Apple School Manager, open Apps and Books and search for the exact app name or Apple ID above.
  2. Select the required location and obtain the number of free licenses you need. Apple requires a payment method even when an app is free.
  3. Use your connected mobile device management service to assign the app to managed users or devices.
  4. Device assignment can install an app without an Apple Account. On supervised devices, your MDM may support silent installation.
  5. Confirm the app is available in the organization’s country or region before planning a rollout.

Apple’s current administrator documentation explains Apps and Books licenses, how to obtain licenses and managed app distribution.

Managed Android

Managed Google Play with EMM

  1. Connect the organization to Android Enterprise and Managed Google Play through its enterprise mobility management provider.
  2. Search Managed Google Play for the exact public package above and add or approve that app for the organization.
  3. Use the EMM console to make the app available in the managed Play Store or force-install it on the intended device group.
  4. Test the policy on a small managed-device group before a wider rollout.

Google’s current administrator documentation explains how to find and distribute public apps, set up Android management and manage approved apps.

Scope and claim boundary

These are public store listings, not private or custom school apps. This guide does not claim an Apple or Google partnership, school approval, curriculum endorsement, MDM certification, guaranteed compatibility, installation, adoption or a learning outcome. The school remains responsible for its device, account, network, safeguarding and procurement policies.
